The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) awarded the 10 Years Plus Caring Organisation Logo to the Force for the second straight year on May 10, in recognition of the Force's commitment in caring for the community, caring for the employees and caring for the environment.
This is the 11th consecutive year since 2005 that the Force has been honoured with the award. So the Force is entitled to use the logo in promotional materials and activities from March 1, 2016 to February 28, 2017.
Furthermore, being the recipient of the "Total Caring Award - Organisation 2006/07", the Force is entitled to display the designated logo in any promotional activity or material beyond 2007 as long as the Force renews the Caring Organisation status every year. The new logo and its specification are available on Police Intranet (POINT).
KCDIST wins Outstanding Partnership Project Award
At the same presentation ceremony, HKCSS delivered the Outstanding Partnership Project Award to Kowloon City District (KCDIST) for its Star-making Project organised in collaboration with Caritas Community Centre - Kowloon and Kowloon Chamber of Commerce (KCC) since 2013. The Force is the first government department receiving this award since its launch in 2003. On behalf of the Force, Director of Management Services Li Kin-fai and Deputy Regional Commander of Kowloon West Wong Kin-wah, together with the representatives from KCC and Caritas Hong Kong, received the award from Acting Chief Secretary for Administration Cheung Kin-chung.
A total of 19 community partnership projects competed for the award this year. The nominee should have developed a partnership project with at least one local charitable organisation for over a year. The Star-making Project was selected as the winner for the efforts and contributions made by cross-sector co-operation.
The project aims to help Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) students attain a higher level of Chinese language proficiency, integrate with the local community and enhance their upward mobility to join the civil service including the Force. It has entered its sixth phase and about 200 NEC students have so far benefited from this project.
