The Senior Police Call Annual General Meeting (SPC AGM) 2017 took place at the Police Headquarters on July 14, with over 300 senior police officers, Senior Police Call Central Advisory Board (SPC CAB) members, SPC Honorary Presidents, staff members of Police Community Relations Offices and SPC members in attendance.
Chairman of SPC CAB cum Regional Commander of Hong Kong Island Yu Tat-chung presided over the meeting. Chief Inspector of SPC and Elderly Engagement Section of Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) Lau Kar-ming reviewed the SPC activities in 2017 while Chief Superintendent of PPRB Tse Chun-chung outlined SPC's development plans for the coming year. In addition, certificates of appreciation were presented to outstanding SPC members, SPC captains and SPC Wealth Management Anti-investment Scam Ambassadors for their contribution and support to the SPC Scheme.
Commissioner Lo Wai-chung and some other senior police officers joined the SPC luncheon that was held after the meeting. Four celebrities, namely Ms Nancy Sit, Mr Woo Fung, Mr Albert Au and Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Education of Hong Kong Baptist University Dr Lobo Louie, were appointed as SPC's Community Care Ambassador, Fight Crime Ambassador, Crime Prevention Ambassador and Vitality Ambassador respectively. They would assist the Force in promoting SPC activities as well as disseminating fight crime and road safety messages to the elderly community. At the luncheon, Ms Sit and Mr Woo gave a memorable performance and hosted an interactive game for the audience.
Meanwhile, certificates of appreciation were also presented to representatives of the SPC Supportive and Strategic Partners, including The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Po Leung Kuk, Hong Kong Alumni Association of the Southern Medical University, Pok Oi Hospital and the Investor Education Centre for their assistance in arranging a variety of fight crime activities, as well as training for the SPC Wealth Management Anti-investment Scam Ambassadors.
Furthermore, the SPC Facebook was launched at the luncheon, turning a new chapter for the SPC. The event was concluded with the singing of the SPC theme song by Commissioner Lo, other senior police officers, and SPC CAB Chairman and members.
