Objective

RenoSafe Scheme is an inter-departmental effort adopting multi-pronged approaches in preventing and combatting criminals from infiltrating building maintenance projects and associated tendering processes. Participating Government Departments and Public Bodies include Buildings Department, Competition Commission, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, Hong Kong Fire Services Department, Home Affairs Department, Independent Commission Against Corruption, Property Management Services Authority, and Urban Renewal Authority.

Our Commitments to Participating Buildings or Estates

  1. Provision of professional advices on building maintenance related aspects by respective Government Departments and Public Bodies;

  2. Round-the-clock police hotline for enquiries relating to building maintenance issues, including one-stop referrals of enquiries or provision of direct contact channels with respective Government Departments and Public Bodies; and

  3. Provision of round-the-clock operational support from the Police.

Responsibilities of Participating Buildings or Estates

  1. Participating buildings or estates will be given relevant publicity materials, including an integrated service package, poster (A3 sized) and banner. The integrated service package introduces crimes commonly associated with building maintenance projects, the assistance provided by participating Government Departments and Public Bodies with their enquiries hotlines included. Publicity materials shall be displayed at prominent positions of the buildings or estates so that property owners and residents are aware of the purpose of RenoSafe Scheme and various channels for seeking assistance. Banners are also provided for hanging on the building or estate’s external walls to indicate the building or estate’s enrolment to RenoSafe Scheme and are determined to co-operate with law enforcement agencies to combat crimes associated with building maintenance projects.

  2. Co-operate with participating Government Departments and Public Bodies; and

  3. Proactively provide information of any unlawful acts or misconducts to law enforcement agencies.
