To mark the 175th Anniversary of the Hong Kong Police Force and the 45th Anniversary of the Junior Police Call (JPC), Police Public Relations Branch will hold two signature events at JPC@Pat Heung under the theme of "Serve and Protect Hong Kong". The events will be the Pat Heung Race (PH Race) and Open Day, to be held on 2019-04-21 (Sunday) and 2019-04-28 (Sunday) respectively. The events include arts and sports elements with a view to enhance public understanding of police work and professionalism.
The “PH Race” is a 19-stages obstacle course embedded with elements of police work. Representatives from disciplinary forces, officers from police divisions and elite units, uniformed groups and students from higher education institutes will take part in races of different categories; the inter-disciplinary forces and police elite units race runs for 3.5 km while the route for the remaining races runs for 1.3 km. There will also be family obstacle course for parents and kids between the age of 6 and 14.
The Open day will cater 4,000 visitors, who will be able to experience the facilitates of JPC@PH. There will also be demonstrations and performance by police units and JPC members. Visitors can also visit the JPC History Museum that will be officially opended by the Chief Secretary of Administration, Mr. Matthew CHEUNG Kin-chung. The museum showcases the development of JPC scheme over the past 45 years. To highlight the cooperation between the Police and the community in the JPC scheme, community leaders, police officers and JPC members will participate in an art jamming as well.
