Cheery, heartening or thunderous could be words to describe the atmosphere of the Force Annual Swimming Gala held at the Sing Mun Valley Swimming Complex on November 27. The Gala's 36 events attracted more than 300 swimmers and supporters.

Intense competition saw Chief Inspector Ho Ka-fei of Complaints Against Police Office, Chief Inspector Kwok Yam-yung of Special Duties Unit and Police Constable Ng Kwok-wai of Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) sharing the Men's Overall Individual Championship.

By smashing the record of the 50m Butterfly, Woman Senior Inspector Choi Nga-wing of CCB clinched the Women's Overall Individual Champion Trophy.

The Force Invitation Relay again proved very successful, with various champion teams from colleges and universities attending. La Salle College and The University of Hong Kong carried off the titles of the College Invitation Relay and the University Invitation Relay respectively. Meanwhile, Fire Services Department won the Inter-Departmental Invitation Relay.

Led by Chief Superintendent Wong Fook-chuen, who is the Chairman of the Police Swimming Club, CCB retained both the Men's and Women's Overall Formation Champion Trophies, the Best Participating Formation Trophy and the Best Cheering Formation Trophy.
