As Wan Chai District has one of the largest populations of ethnic minorities on Hong Kong Island, Wan Chai District (WCHDIST) Police Community Relations Office maintains close liaison with the Hindu Temple and the Islamic Union.  At the same time, the Office has conducted researches on community engagement, especially on the younger generation of the ethnic minorities to integrate with the locals.

This summer vacation, WCHDIST organised a Nepalese Music Camp, "Music Integration Leading Asian Nationalities" while WCHDIST Police Community Liaison Assistant (PCLA) Karan Thapa taught ethnic minority kids the skills of playing Nepalese music. A Nepalese dance teacher also taught cultural dances and songs.

The music camp concluded with a graduation ceremony at the Wan Chai Junior Police Call Club House on August 31 when Police Community Relations Officer, Chief Inspector Maxim Kwok, presented certificates to the participants. Both the kids and their parents expressed their appreciation for the event and looked forward to more cultural and educational activities in the future.
