I  knew Bill Fleming when he wrote to OffBeat in 1986, searching for a Hong Kong-based friend with police connections. Bill is a Victoria Police Officer in Australia. He came to Hong Kong for sightseeing in 1987 and we kept in touch after that. We became best friends though we are far away from each other.

But we have lost contact for more than 10 years in between because of moving house. Luckily, I could find him on Facebook four years ago. It is amazing! Bill visited Hong Kong again in 2010 and we had a great time together.

Bill is a caring person. In 2010, he gave me a great surprise when he sent his best wishes in an email from Australia when I was in hospital for a minor operation.
