After the launch of the Senior Police Call (SPC) scheme in June this year, Police Public Relations Branch and Traffic Headquarters jointly rolled out a project known as "Senior Police Call - Road Safety Publicity Campaign Month for the Elderly" in September and October. During the project, various Police districts organised a series of promotional activities for elders in a bid to make them more conscious of road safety and to reduce traffic accidents.

The police districts invited organisations of elders to take part in activities of publicity and education related to the concept and goals of the SPC scheme. The activities included road safety talks, distribution of road safety flyers to pedestrians at traffic accident blackspots, and visits to solitary elders.
