To promote road safety amongst elderly pedestrians in Kwai Tsing District, the Road Safety Office of Traffic New Territories South held a "Sharp Smart Elderly Pedestrian Safety Campaign" on November 29. 
 
Among the officiating guests at the campaign were New Territories South Regional Commander Lau Chi-wai; New Territories South Regional Commander of Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol; Mr Lo Siu-kit, Chairman of Traffic and Transport Committee, Tsuen Wan District Council; Miss Poon Siu-ping, Chairman of Traffic and Transport Committee, Kwai Tsing District Council; Mr Lo Kwong-shing, Chairman of Traffic and Transport Committee, Lantau District Council and Mr Cheng Cho-kwong, Convenor of Working Group on Road Safety, Traffic and Transport Committee of Sha Tin District Council.  
 
Road safety messages were disseminated through dramas and Chinese operas to over 300 senior citizens attending the opening ceremony, after which members of the Road Safety Patrol distributed flyers and souvenirs to the elderly to drive home the slogan: "Love Yourself, Love Your Family, Be a Smart Pedestrian".
