Yuen Long District (YLDIST) strives to implement the Force Strategic Direction on "Engaging the Community" in respect of the Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) communities. Last month, Acting District Commander Chan Lok-wing hosted a reception for three Pakistani community leaders in Yuen Long Police Station in a bid to forge better communication and co-operation in fighting crimes. The meeting succeeded in laying a solid foundation for long-term communication and co-operation.

 

YLDIST also carried out a similar mission during the Muslim community's Friday worshipping in five mosques in Yuen Long, disseminating fight crime messages and giving an update on the local crime situation. YLDIST has made use of the local Pakistani weekly, HAQEEQAT HK, to publicise its "Project HIMALAYA" and the Junior Police Call scheme, and encourage NEC youngsters to participate in JPC activities.
