To instil integrity into the life of its officers and reinforce their sensitivity in managing integrity-related issues, Crime Hong Kong Island (CRM HKI) organised an "Integrity Management Four Panel Comic Design Competition" in November and December last year.
The comic competition was open to teams formed by officers, with Integrity Management (IM) as a theme, and offered awards for the champion, first runner-up, second runner-up and merit award winner, who were selected by CRM HKI Senior Superintendent and the CRM HKI Integrity Focus Group according to their design technique, content and originality.
The competition drew a total of ten regional crime teams. Eventually, Regional Crime Prevention Office was selected winner, followed by Regional Anti-Triad Unit Team 1 and Regional Crime Unit Team 1D as first and second runners-up respectively. Regional Special Duty Squad Team 1 clinched the Merit Award. The winning designs will be produced for display in CRM HKI Headquarters in Caine House.
CRM HKI Superintendent Leung Wing-ki pointed out that the goal of the competition was to make officers more sensitive towards different ethical issues through lively and life-related visual subjects and to encourage them to uphold the value of integrity both on and off duty.
The champion design is a hand-drawn picture, illustrating that no matter how busy officers might be, they should always advocate the value of integrity at work and behaviour. Station Sergeant Cheung Sai-man of Regional Crime Prevention Office observed: "It is an innovative idea to use comic to project the message of integrity. Funny pictures can draw officers' attention to ethical issues and help them reflect on their conduct."
