The Regional Crime Prevention Office Kowloon East (RCPO KE) and the LINK, the largest company in Hong Kong managing 178 car parks with a total of 80,000 parking spaces, have been operating an "Anti-Vehicle Crime Project - Partnership with LINK Reit" since 2009.
At regular meetings and seminars on security, the latest modus operandi and crime trend were disseminated to the security guards of the LINK, plus professional security advice. The LINK has taken steps to enhance car park facilities mainly by implementing the Tailgating Detection System, increasing the number and coverage of closed-circuit television, stepping up patrols by security guards and improving lighting systems.
Last month, RCPO KE hosted four seminars for more than 200 security guards and the LINK management, enabling both parties to share work experience and improve communication.
