Supporting the Force Strategy on Integrity Management (IM), the Junior Police Officer Integrity Management Committee of Operations Wing, Hong Kong Island (HKI) Region launched Integrity Badminton Competition and Integrity Management Bookmark Design Competition last November and December respectively.
The contests aimed at heightening officers' awareness of IM by offering them opportunities to take part in healthy sports and get involved in initiatives to promote integrity.
The Integrity Badminton Competition was held on November 29 with participants coming from units of Operations Wing HKI, including Emergency Unit (EU), Police Tactical Unit (PTU), Public Order Event Section, Regional Command and Control Centre (RCCC), Regional Missing Persons Unit (RMPU), and Transport. The competition focussed on promoting culture of integrity, physical health, mental health and financial prudence.
After rigorous playoffs, the results were as follows.
Men's Single Champion: Police Constable (PC) Mo Kai-on of PTU E1.
Women's Single Champion: Lai Mei-wah, Chief Police Communications Officer of RCCC HKI.
Doubles Events Champion: PC Mo Kai-on and PC Cheung Woon-fan, both of PTU E1
Grand Champion: PTU E Company
The Integrity Management Bookmark Design Competition drew many designs of a high standard. An adjudication panel, comprising HKI Regional Commander Li Kin-fai and Senior Superintendent (Operations) Cheng Yiu-mo assessed the entries with the following results.
Champion: PC Kwok Ka-tang, PC Cheung Yiu-lun, PC Leung Yin-wan, PC Lau Nim-so, and PC Fong Chiu-man, all from RMPU HKI.
First Runner-up: Inspector Fung Wing-on of PTU E4.
Second Runner-up: PC Ko Sin-ting from former PTU E2.
Merit Award winners: PC Chiu Kam-wah of PTU E1 and PC Chiu Kam-wai of EU HKI.
The prize-winning entries will be re-produced for distributions to Formations.
Members of the champion team share the view that the bookmark design competition offered them a platform to understand better what integrity management is all about, besides disseminating IM messages to other officers.
Presenting awards to the winners and runners-up, Mr Li praised the contestants for the creativity of their designs, which, he noted, underscored the Force's efforts to cultivate a culture of Integrity Management.
