Kowloon East (KE) Region held a cooking competition between January 13 and 15 in a bid to improve the catering service and environment of the canteens in the Region.
During the contest period, an eight-member adjudicating panel comprising Regional Commander Mike Cartwright, Deputy Regional Commander Cheng Shuk-chun, commanders of KE Regional Headquarters units, and a representative of the Junior Police Officers' Association, visited the participating canteens and subsequently picked the winners of Designated Dish (fried flat rice noodle with beef), Signature Dish and Best Canteen Venue.
At a prize presentation ceremony on January 17, the canteens in Kwun Tong Police Station, Wong Tai Sin and Sai Kung Police Station received the awards for the Designated Dish, the Best Signature Dish of soy sauce Chicken, and the Best Canteen Environment respectively.
After the contest, canteen operators pledged to continue to provide tasty and healthy dishes for officers.
