Director of Operations Wong Chi-hung and Marine Regional Commander Chiu Wai-yin hosted the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Maritime Law Enforcement Agency Annual Liaison Gathering in Police Officers' Club on February 26. 

 

Attending the event were over 100 delegates from the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR, Guangdong Border Defence Bureau, Office for Combatting Smuggling of Guangdong Province, Guangdong Sub-Administration of Customs, Guangdong Marine and Fisheries Inspection Bureau, Customs Service of Macao SAR, as well as officers from Marine Department, Customs and Excise Department, Fire Services Department, Immigration Department, Government Flying Services and Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department.

 

Speaking at the meeting, Mr Wong thanked Guangdong and Macao and local government departments for their co-operation in tackling smuggling, illegal immigrants and illegal fishing and contributions in searches and rescues. He hoped all maritime law enforcement agencies would further strengthen liaison, adding that he looked forward to another fruitful year.
