Regional Commander Kowloon East Richard Morgan and Senior Superintendent Paul Mounsey Traffic Kowloon West praised school road safety patrol teams for their contributions when they inspected their annual parades.

On February 16, Mr Morgan inspected 400 Road Safety Patrol members from 11 primary and secondary school patrols, 12 kindergarten patrols and an elderly patrol team at the Annual Parade of the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (Kowloon East Region) at Auxiliary Police Headquarters in Kowloon Bay.

He thanked the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol for its valuable contribution to the road safety activities organised by Police Districts and Traffic Kowloon East, especially those for elderly road users.

In a bid to disseminate road safety messages to more young people, Traffic Kowloon East invited, through Non-government Organisations, teenagers and parents from single parent and homeless families to attend the parade. Traffic officers guided them throughout the programme, and introduced police vehicles and road safety messages, making the inspection parade a memorable experience for the participants.

Taking salute at the Annual Inspection Parade of the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (Kowloon West Region) at Fa Hui Playground in Mong Kok on February 23, Mr Mounsey praised 27 road safety patrol teams from secondary and primary schools as well as kindergartens and elderly centres for sacrificing their own time and energy for promoting road safety and assisting in organising and running road safety activities.

He also pointed out that Traffic Kowloon West and the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol  (Kowloon West Region) had worked closely to raise public awareness of road safety. He called on the road safety patrol members to continue their efforts for achieving the vision of "Zero Accidents on the Road" in Hong Kong.
