New Territories North (NTN) Region has been operating a Best Security Guard Awards Scheme annually since 2006 to compliment outstanding security guards. Effective security management not only relies on quality security management measures, but also requires security personnel providing security work to achieve optimal effect.  Therefore, the award scheme also aims at offering them an opportunity to get together to share experience and learn quality security management so as to beef up their professionalism.  

 

The prize presentation ceremony of the Best Security Guard Awards 2013 was held at in Yuen Long Theatre on May 7.  Members from the Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority, the Hong Kong Security Association and the Crime Prevention Bureau formed a judging panel and selected 610 Outstanding Award winners from a record number of 4,215 participants. Amongst the winners, 12 groups of the Most Outstanding Top-10 Best Security Guards were picked for gold, silver and bronze prizes.

 

Among the guests of honour of the presentation ceremony were Chairman of the Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority, Mr Cham Ka-hung, NTN Regional Commander Chung Siu-yeung, the chairpersons of the district fight crime committees in NTN, and officers from the Headquarters and various districts. In the ceremony, video clips on how the gold and silver prizewinners won their honour were screened for the 800 guests.
