The Force has won the Hong Kong Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) Award, Asian MAKE Award and Global MAKE Award (Independent Operating Unit) on account of its outstanding performance in Knowledge Management (KM) practices and implementation. It is also the first time a Hong Kong organisation has won the Global MAKE Award.
To help other government departments benchmark the best practices in KM, the Efficiency Unit arranged a sharing session for bureaux and departments on June 20 and invited the Force to share its experience of implementing KM and the challenges it has faced. Senior Superintendent (SSP) Cheng Tak-ming, Head of the Specialised Services Training Centre of Police College, represented the Force at the session.
More than 100 representatives from bureaux and departments gathered at the Efficiency Unit to learn the Force's experience. The session covered lessons learned and the milestones the Force had achieved during its 13-year KM journey. SSP Cheng's presentation was a source of stimulation and inspiration for the bureaux and departments interested in setting off on their KM journeys or enhancing their KM activities.
Police College will arrange a Force-wide session later this year to update officers on the Force's KM development, activities and the way forward.
