The Charles Sturt University (CSU) in Australia, which signed a Memorandum of Understanding on an accreditation agreement with the Force last year, has set up a scholarship for graduates of the Probationary Inspector (PI) Course to pursue postgraduate studies.

Under the agreement, the PI Course is accredited by the CSU and linked to the university's relevant postgraduate courses. PI Course graduates will be granted credits for pursuing CSU's Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master in Leadership and Management (Policing and Security) on a part-time and flexible basis.  This accreditation arrangement covers all the PI Courses run before and after the agreement was signed.

Officers making use of the accreditation arrangement can enrol in the relevant postgraduate courses of the CSU.  Each year, the officer who achieves the best result in the core subject, namely "Operational Command", will be awarded the scholarship.  The scholarship will cover the course fees for the remaining enrolled courses.  This is taken as a step to further encourage Force members to engage in lifelong learning.

The CSU is now accepting enrolment applications for its postgraduate courses.  Interested officers should submit their applications on or before August 31. For more information please visit the website at http://www.csu.edu.au/courses/postgraduate/management_policing_hkp.
