Regional Crime Prevention Office New Territories South (RCPO NTS) organised a number of activities under "Project Chummak" in June and July.
For enhancing social integration, RCPO NTS arranged for local and Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) students to visit the HK SkyCity Marriott Hotel on June 27, hoping they would learn more about the hotel industry. The Human Resources Section gave a briefing on the recruitment requirements and working conditions of the hotel.
To help students set their goals after studies, RCPO NTS invited Fire Services Department, Correctional Services Department and Immigration Department to jointly hold a seminar on recruitment for NEC students, alongside the Force at NTS Regional Headquarters on July 7. The students got a better idea of the recruitment requirements and fringe benefits of the disciplined services.
Eager to help NEC students to join the Force after studies, RCPO NTS also secured the assistance of the Airport Security Unit (ASU) to design 10 lessons on physical training for NEC students to boost confidence and appreciate the importance of team spirit and discipline. The training programme comprises the physical requirements for police recruitment, long-distance run, weightlifting, hiking and orienteering. The first lesson commenced at the ASU base in Airport District on July 10 when 33 NEC students received instructions from ASU officers.
RCPO NTS has successfully invited a number of government departments as well as local and global enterprises to join its "Project Chummak". The project aims at helping NEC youths equip themselves for their future with various activities, career talks and visits to enterprises.
