Yau Tsim District (YTDIST) mounted a series of publicity campaigns to deter illegal bookmaking. 

On June 12, Acting YTDIST Commander, Siu Kit-hung, Chairman of the Ping Wo Fund, Dr Yau Wing-kwong, Principal Assistant Secretary of Home Affairs Bureau, Mrs Susanne Wong, Chairman of Yau Tsim Mong District Fight Crime Committee (DFCC), Mr Chan Siu-tong, and Yau Tsim Mong District Councillors led officers from Kowloon West Regional Crime Prevention Office and YTDIST to distribute publicity items in the bars in the vicinity of Minden Avenue.

 

More publicity was mounted on June 18 when Mr Siu, Yau Tsim District Junior Police Call Honorary Presidents Council Chairman, Mr Chiu Yu-hei, and members of YTDIST Senior Police Call and Yau Tsim Mong DFCC, assisted by officers and the anti-illegal soccer bookmaking publicity vehicle of Police Public Relations Bureau, drove home the anti-illegal bookmaking message to the public and shops along Nathan Road.
