The Road Safety Team of Traffic New Territories North (T NTN) held the Summer Safe Cycling cum Safe Cycling Ambassadors Appointment Ceremony with Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol at Tai Po Waterfront Park Amphitheatre on July 6, attracting around 450 people.
Officiating at the ceremony were Tai Po Assistant District Officer, Miss Swing Yau, Regional Commander of Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (New Territories North), Mr Lau Kwong-hing, Tai Po District Commander of Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol, Mr Wong Cheung-hon, Chairman of Traffic and Transport Committee of Tai Po District Council (TPDC), Mr Man Chen-fai, Chairman of Working Group on Tai Po Road Safety Campaign of TPDC, Mr Cheung Kwok-wai, Chief Executive of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and Tai Po Hospital, Dr Beatrice Cheng, T NTN Acting Senior Superintendent Neil Dunn, and Tai Po District Operation Officer Tse Tak-hung.
At the ceremony, about 200 primary and secondary school students were appointed Safe Cycling Ambassadors to help the T NTN Road Safety Team promote cycling safety. Following the ceremony, Road Safety Team officers and over 100 Safe Cycling Ambassadors conducted a bicycle parade along the Tai Po Waterfront Cycle Track and handed out road safety leaflets and souvenirs to the public.
