Traffic New Territories South (T NTS), Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol New Territories South Region (HKRSP/NTS), the Road Safety Working Group of Shatin District Council Traffic and Transport  (STDC T&T) Committee and the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Lung Hang Youth S.P.O.T. (HKFYG/LHYSPOT) staged a safe cycling promotion, "Wise Ride Ambassador 2014", at Shatin Central Park On July 27 to disseminate safe cycling messages.

 

Officiating at the inaugural ceremony of the function were Chairman of STDC T&T Committee, Mr Yiu Ka-chun, Convenor of Road Safety Working Group of STDC T&T Committee, Mr Cheng Cho-kwong, Deputy Commander of HKRSP/NTS, Mr Chan Hoi-ping, Commander of Shatin District, HKRSP, Mr Lau Kwok-leung, Head of School of SKH Holy Spirit Primary School, Ms Wong Kit-sum, Head of School of Wellborn Anglo-Chinese Kindergarten, Ms Wong Sheung-ping, Social Worker of HKFYG/LHYSPOT, Ms Li Pik-yin, Acting NTS Deputy Regional Commander Kwok Ho-yee and Acting Shatin District Commander Angela Chiu.

 

The ceremony attracted about 400 participants. Representatives from HKFYG/LHYSPOT, primary and secondary schools in NTS Region assisted police in disseminating road safety messages as "Wise Ride Ambassadors".  They had attended a training course provided by Road Safety Council to learn the correct cycling skills.

 

After taking an oath, the "Wise Ride Ambassadors", led by NTS Road Safety officers, headed for the Shatin Cycling Track to hand out safe cycling fliers and souvenirs to the public.
