The Police Community Relations Office of Central District (CDIST) and Peak Sub-division mounted a beat crime drive on the Peak on July 26 in conjunction with Central & Western District Fight Crime Committee (DFCC) in a bid to make residents and property management personnel more aware of crime prevention.
The publicity drive began with a seminar, where Acting CDIST Commander Chan Yee-lai and Peak Sub-divisional Commander Ku Siu-fai introduced the crime trend, police deployment and crime prevention in Peak Sub-division. They also called on building management offices to remain alert to any suspicious activities outside buildings, as well as residents to keep their anti-burglary alarm systems in good working condition. After the seminar, officers distributed anti-pickpocket and anti-taxi overcharging fliers to tourists and locals at the Peak Galleria. The Senior Police Call members from CDIST pitched in at the publicity drive and pledged full support for more similar activities.
Officers from the Hong Kong Island Regional Crime Prevention Office also introduced to DFCC members building security measures and co-operation with security personnel in preventing crimes during a visit to an estate.
