Tuen Mun District (TMDIST) and Lingnan University organised a "Youth Street-Run Programme" for young people during the summer vacation, which was designed by professional coaches to promote the spirit of Marathon and the sport of running.  

 

The organisers hope the programme would instil the "never give up" and "I can do it" attitudes in the runners. The programme was also open to Non-ethnic Chinese young people for promoting social integration.  

 

On July 29, the coaches and police volunteers led some 20 youngsters to run for six miles by making a round trip between Lingnan University and Tuen Mun Police Station. Acting TMDIST Commander Fok Lok-sang took the opportunity to call on the runners to beef up their perseverance and confidence, while police volunteers disseminated positives values and fight crime messages.
