Narcotics Bureau (NB) is staging a two-week exhibition entitled "A Diamond Police Formation to Beat Drugs for a Better Hong Kong" at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Drug InfoCentre in Queensway Government Offices to celebrate its 60th Anniversary.

Officiating at the opening ceremony on September 5, Director of Crime and Security Lo Mung-hung said the exhibition illustrated NB's efforts to combat drug trafficking and money laundering activities during the past six decades. The Force had all along, besides vigorous enforcement actions, adopted a multi-agency and community-based approach to promote anti-drug messages among juveniles and enhance the public's vigilance against youth drug abuse at home and parents' understanding of the hidden nature of drug abuse.

Other officiating guests included Chairman of the Action Committee Against Narcotics, Prof Daniel Shek Tan-lei, Commissioner for Narcotics, Mrs Erika Hui Lam Yin-ming, Assistant Commissioner  (Crime) John Ribeiro and Narcotics Bureau Chief Superintendent Chan Kin-hung.

The exhibition features a wide range of drug paraphernalia, a time tunnel, and a mock-up drug manufacturing plant, giving visitors a better idea of the work and accomplishments of NB in the past 60 years. There is also a souvenir booth offering free postcards and anniversary brochures to visitors.

Highlights of the exhibition will include a demonstration by police drug detection and tracker dogs on Saturdays at 11am and 2.30pm. A limited quantity of police dog souvenirs will be distributed to visitors after the performance.

The exhibition opens to the public from 10am to 6pm, except Sundays and public holidays, until September 20 at the Drug InfoCentre on the roof floor, Low Block of Queensway Government Offices. Admission is free.
