In a bid to strengthen partnership with residential building management offices (BMOs) in tackling house burglaries, Central District (CDIST) and Hong Kong Island Regional Crime Prevention Office (HKI RCPO) hosted an anti-burglary forum for 43 representatives from the BMOs on Mid-Levels and the Peak on August 6.  The Chairman and members of the Central and Western District Fight Crime Committee attended the forum to show their support for CDIST's initiative.

In his opening remark, Assistant District Commander (Operations) Lam Hung-chuen pointed out that the co-operation among the community, security industry and the police was one of the key elements for prevention and detection of crime.  He called on the participants to enhance communication with the police, remain alert and provide crime information.

During the forum, Peak Sub-Divisional Commander Ku Siu-fai and Central District Task Force Sub-unit Commander Tsai Tung-hung outlined the crime trend and culprits' modus operandi, and reiterated the core duties of security personnel. Officers of HKI RCPO also introduced security systems for beefing up the effectiveness of security measures.

Before closure of the forum, District  Commander Chau Ping-sun presented certificates of appreciation to the participants. In response, the participants undertook to share crime prevention knowledge with their colleagues so that the latter would be in a better position to help the police prevent crime.
