Kowloon West Regional Crime Prevention Office, in conjunction with the Kowloon West Youth-care Committee (KWYCC) and the Raleigh Hong Kong, ran an adventure training programme at the Man Yee Activity and Training Centre in Sai Kung from August 2 to 3 for 40 youngsters subject to Superintendent's Discretion.
The programme aimed at developing the youngsters' potential and enhancing their self-confidence and team spirit with challenging tasks. The event also offered a seminar on the harm of psychotropic drugs conducted by a social worker from the Hong Kong Christian Service-PS33, followed by experience-sharing by an ex-psychotropic abuser and a talk on "The Myth of Triad Society" by Chief Inspector Wong Chi-wai from Kowloon West Regional Anti-triad Unit.
KW Superintendent Paul Bailey and three KWYCC presidents, Mr Cheung Che-kong, Mr Wong Kwong-hon and Ms Ng Yin-mui, also attended the event and encouraged the youngsters to steer clear of drugs.
