KTDIST
The Police Community Relations Office (PCRO) of Kwun Tong District (KTDIST) recruited a total of 300 members for the Senior Police Call (SPC) scheme after holding three sessions of a recruitment seminar in August.
On September 4, KTDIST held a "SPC Member Registration Day cum Anti-Telephone Deception Talk" to complete the registration procedure.
Officiating at the event, SPC Central Committee Member, Mr Wong Fan-foung, Kwun Tong Resident Association Chairlady, Ms Leung Fu-wing, Kwun Tong Junior Police Call Honourable President, Ms Li Wai-chun, and District Commander, Acting Chief Superintendent (CSP) Lee Nga-lai witnessed the 300 SPC members taking an oath on helping the fight against crime
Acting CSP Lee called on the new SPC members to uphold the spirit of mutual assistance and encourage their peers to join the SPC scheme
NTS Region
New Territories South (NTS) Region, Police Public Relations Branch, Commercial Crime Bureau and Investor Education Centre made a joint effort to protect the elderly from investment fraud on August 14, by hosting a "Watch the Steps and Learn the Traps Before you Invest" seminar for 120 SPC members.
Following an officiating ceremony performed by Regional Commander Lau Chi-wai, the elders, coming from Tsuen Wan, Kwai Tsing, Shatin, and Lantau, were reminded of important subjects related to investment, including "Reminder on Financial Investment", "Pyramid Selling Scheme" and "Tips on Preventing Scams". They were encouraged to exercise wealth management and make investments prudently.
