The Research Unit of Criminal Intelligence Bureau held a biannual Gambling Expert Cadre Seminar in Police Sports and Recreation Club on September 26, covering court case sharing, the new trends of illegal baccarat gambling establishments, and use of Instant Messaging Applications for bookmaking. 

 

The seminar attracted 51 Gambling Experts. The seminar also introduced the Gambling Expert Training Course to be held next year to meet the growing challenges for the Gambling Experts and replenish the strength of the Cadre due to retirement. 

 

Recruitment circular will be issued on November 24 and officers at all ranks may apply to join the Cadre through their Formations. 

 

The Gambling Expert Cadre performs a voluntary secondary duty, providing expert evidence in court and advice regarding illegal gambling activities to officers.
