To make elders more wary of telephone deception and thank Fight Crime Ambassadors for their contributions, New Territories North Regional Crime Prevention Office (RCPO NTN) hosted Prevention of Telephone Deception Seminar cum Presentation of Appreciation Letters on October 30. 

 

Sixty-three received letters of appreciation for their contributions in the past year before a large gathering of guests, including Acting Regional Commander Li Chi-hang, the Chairman of the North District Council, Mr So Sai-chi, Chairman of Elderly Commission, Prof Chan Cheung-ming, chairpersons and members of Districts Fight Crime Committees, District Social Welfare Officers, commanders from Police Districts and about 800 elders. 

 

NTN Region also complimented the staff of banks and money remittance agencies as well as members of the public for assisting the police in thwarting phone deception in the past. The ceremony concluded with distribution of phone deception prevention fliers and souvenirs to the elders.
