At the presentation ceremony of the "New Territories South Best Security Personnel Awards 2013-2014" held on November 10, a total of 481 security personnel were commended and nine of them were awarded the Best Security Personnel Award and metal badges for their professional performances.
In addition, six property management companies were awarded Best Crime Prevention Partner Commendation Certificate for their contributions to crime prevention.
Officiating at the ceremony, Acting NTS Regional Commander Lui Hon-kwok praised the award-winners for setting a good example for the security industry and encouraged them to keep up their efforts to build a safe community for residents and business tenants. He also thanked the security personnel for their contributions to maintaining a high standard of public security.
Owners' corporations, property management companies, security companies and Police District Commanders nominated a record 960 security personnel for the award scheme.
HKI Region
At the "Hong Kong Island Best Security Services Awards 2013-2014 Presentation Ceremony" organised by the Hong Kong Island Regional Crime Prevention Office on November 14, a total of 222 property management units were presented with Outstanding Industrial/Commercial Property Management Award or Outstanding Residential Property Management Award, while 200 security personnel were presented with Outstanding Security Personnel Award or Best Security Personnel Award.
A Selection Panel comprising representatives from the Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority, the four District Fight Crime Committees on Hong Kong Island, Teens and Elderly Mission Committee and Crime Hong Kong Island Regional Headquarters, also selected ten of the awardees as Best Top Ten Security Personnel.
All the awardees made great contributions at their own posts to preventing crime and protecting their clients' property. They also assisted police in saving lives, preventing phone scams, and arresting suspects.
Officiating at the presentation ceremony, Hong Kong Island Regional Commander Li Kin-fai also commended 50 bank staff members and money remittance service operators for assisting in thwarting a total of 23 phone scams in 2013 and 2014.
