Yau Tsim District (YTDIST) held another Anti-Crime Banking Seminar for around 70 representatives from over 10 financial institutions on November 14, after the first one held in December last year.
In the seminar, District Commander Yu Tat-chung, Assistant District Commander (Crime) Tsang Yiu-wo, and Chief Inspector (Crime) So Man-kuen analysed the crime situation, case characteristics and prevention measures for bank-related crimes, such as email scams and deception related to saving and deposit. The seminar also focused on the ways to identify suspicious transactions, with a view to reducing the chances for culprits to use bank accounts in Hong Kong for "laundering" money.
Mr Yu told the audience that he hoped the seminar would make them more aware of crime prevention, and strengthen the close working relationship between police and the financial sector.
