Shamshuipo District (SSPODIST), Shamshuipo District Fight Crime Committee (DFCC), Shamshuipo District Council and a number of district organisations joined forces in staging a "Sports, Fight Crime, Beat Drug, and Support Rehabilitated Offenders Carnival" at Cheung Sha Wan Playground on November 30.

 

Officiating at the event were Secretary for Justice, Mr Yuen Kwok-keung, Regional Commander Kowloon West Cheung Kwai-kee, District Commander Shamshuipo Tam Chak-hang, and Chairman of Shamshuipo DFCC, Dr Cheng Kam-chung. 

 

At the ceremony, 15 security guards were presented with Model Security Guard Award, while 10 Police Constables and nine citizens received Outstanding Police Officer Award and Good Citizen Award respectively for their contributions to the district.

 

The carnival attracted a large turnout from the community to enjoy a rich programme of performances by the Police Band and Police Dog Unit as well as a lion dance. In dissemination of crime prevention messages, the Crime Prevention Bureau's "Robotcop" was a heat with many kids.
