The Police Community Relations Offices (PCRO) of the police districts in Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, Tai Po and Border jointly offered a New Territories North (NTN) Region Fight Crime Training Camp from November 29 to 30 at the Jockey Club Tai Tong Holiday Camp in Yuen Long for over 150 Junior Police Call (JPC) members from NTN.
The camp aimed at training up the JPC members in teamwork, leadership and commitments to society, besides encouraging them to help police fight crime. Inspector Yeung Hiu-tung from Commercial Crime Bureau gave the campers a lecture on the common commercial crimes, job-hunting traps and the technology crimes committed by young people.
Video clips on prevention of "Social Media Deception" and "Naked Chat Blackmail", jointly produced by PCRO Tuen Mun District and the Office of Service Learning of the Lingnan University, were screened to give the campers a better idea of the modus operandi of technology crimes and to show how to avoid falling preys to such crimes.
