The Regional Crime Prevention Office of New Territories North (RCPO NTN) held a seminar on social media scam for over 40 staff members from six large retail chain stores on January 29.
At the seminar, Senior Inspector Bessie Fun from Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau introduced the trends of hacking personal account in Mobile Apps and modes of operation and offered prevention tips. At the same time, NTN Regional Crime Prevention Officer, Chief Inspector Louise Lam, followed with the NTN's promotion strategies to tackle the issue, including distribution of a newly designed flier and stickers for enlisting the co-operation of chain stores in preventing social media scam.
NTN Acting Senior Superintendent (Crime) Chan Tsan-wing took the opportunity to present letter of appreciation to the audience for their support for police.
