Kwai Tsing District (KWTDIST) has rolled out "Project Go Front" to help Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) youths tap their potential and integrate with the community.  The project is divided into four areas, namely education, entertainment, law and order, and community integration.

In education, KWTDIST organises Capacity Building Workshop with the collaboration of Home Affairs Department, Hong Kong Community Network, HKSKH Lady MacLehose Centre and Hong Kong Nang Yan College of Higher Education. The workshop aims at enhancing NEC youths' capacity and employability with a 24-week comprehensive training programme comprising Chinese language training, physical fitness training, leadership training and visits to different police units.

The kick-off ceremony of the Capacity Building Workshop was held in Tsing Yi Police Station on January 31, where 19 NEC youths swore in Chinese that they would make the most of the workshop before a large gathering of guests, including KWTDIST Commander Wong Kin-wah, Assistant District Officer, Mr Wu Tin-yau, Vice-chairman of the District Council, Mr Law King-shing, and NEC community leaders.

The youths not only took a great interest in a talk given by the Recruitment Division, but also had a lot of interaction with their police mentors.

Following the kick-off ceremony was a crime prevention drive in an area inhabited by many ethnic minorities, where 30 volunteers from Junior Police Call and Silver Harriers joined the "Project Go Front" participants in distributing bilingual crime prevention fliers to the public.
