Commissioner of Police
Dear Sir,
I would like to write to you commending your officers, Mr CHAN Yiu Tak (SGT 9842) and Mr CHAN Chung Nang (PC 4310).
On 22nd December 2014, I dropped my wallet unknowingly at Homantin Shopping Centre, Fat Kwong Street, Kowloon. I received a phone call on the second day in the morning. An officer asked me to go to Hung Hom Police Station to collect it from the Report Room. When I arrived there, both these officers greeted me with a refreshing courtesy, which was beyond my expectation. I was deeply impressed by the way I was treated. Both of them were polite and very helpful, guiding me to verify the content inside my wallet, including cash, an I/D card, a China Re-entry Card, a couple of credit cards...so on and so forth. These officers handled my case in quite a professional manner. When asked if they would accept cash as a token of appreciation, both of them said no straightaway. I was deeply impressed and I thought what they did and the way they did it should deserve my heartfelt commendation.
Right from the beginning, I, as an ordinary citizen arriving at the report room, felt like coming home. I had a strong feeling that I was taken care of. During the whole process, I found both of them were of high quality. I must admit they changed my views of the force as a whole. They both appeared competent, enthusiastic and dedicated. I sincerely believe these officers should deserve congratulations or a reward for performing their jobs beyond expectations.
As we are close to Lunar New Year, may I take this opportunity to express my best wishes to you and Hong Kong Police Force.
Kung Hey Fat Choy & All the best!
J. Tam
