Following the successful visit to study the annual training of the Special Women Task Team (SWTT) of the Singapore Police Force in 2013, TANGO Company sent another eight-member delegation on a similar visit between January 19 and 22.
During the four-day visit, the delegation, comprising Inspector Leung Siu-ling, Sergeants Chan Wai-ying and Kwan Man-sze, and Police Constables Leung Yin-wan, Ng Lai-yuk, Kan Wai-ming, Yau Ho-yan and Sek Hong-yiung, studied the SWTT recruitment selection exercise, which covered, among other subjects, theories, tactics and physical training.
The delegation members also shared their experiences and tactics of handling public events with their Singapore counterparts and discussed policing strategies and the different political and social environments in Singapore and Hong Kong.
In the views of the delegate members, the visit broadened their horizons and reinforced working relationship with the SWTT.
TANGO COY Commander, Superintendent Chui Po-chui, pointed out: "While each TANGO member has to undergo two days of training annually to get equipped for handling internal security and public events, it is equally important for her to learn overseas experiences in order to boost professional knowledge and ability."
TANGO COY Second in-charge, Chief Inspector Melinda Fong, stressed that the Singapore visit not only enhanced the professionalism and confidence of TANGO members, but also maintained strong camaraderie and communication with the SWTT.
