To renew and update the display of security equipment, the Crime Prevention Bureau (CPB) Display Room on the 9th floor of Arsenal House at Police Headquarters was given a face-lift following a five-month renovation and was re-opened to the public in November last year.
A ceremony was held on January 30 to mark the official re-opening of the new Display Room and acknowledge the contributions of the security industry to crime prevention. Officiating at the ceremony were Assistant Commissioner (Crime) John Ribeiro, Chief Superintendent (Crime Wing Support) Matthew Hemmings, Senior Superintendent (Crime Wing Support) Lee Wai-man, CPB Superintendent Kwok Yik-man and the Chairperson of the Renovation of CPB Display Room Committee, Ms Karen Ng.
Opening in 2005, the Display Room received over 400 visitors each year and offered the public advice on crime prevention measures by displaying security equipment provided by the security industry. For the renovation, the security industry also contributed to installing the security equipment on display, showing an excellent example of public and private partnership.
