The Police Community Relations Office of Eastern District (EDIST) hosted an inter-departmental meeting with Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) community leaders on January 27 to discuss matters of common concerns in the district.

 

Over 10 local stakeholders attended the meeting, including school principals, staff of Home Affairs Department, Hong Kong Family Welfare Society, and Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) as well as representatives from other non-governmental organisations. 

 

At the meeting, EDIST Police Community Relations Officer Tsang Fan-hon introduced the NEC projects being implemented by EDIST, while a representative of the EOC gave a presentation on handling of cases involving the NEC.

 

For both the NEC leaders and school principals, the meeting provided a platform for the stakeholders to address matters affecting the NEC community.
