The Used Clothing Collection Campaign 2014, one of the social responsibility initiatives of the Force and a joint venture with the Salvation Army, has collected 110 010 kilograms of clothing and used items from 25 collection points. In addition, the first Used Small Electrical Appliances Collection Campaign was held from April to June last year.

A Handing-over cum Recognition Ceremony was held at Police Headquarters on March 5, with Assistant Commissioner (Personnel) Lau Chi-wai and Major On Dieu-quang, General Secretary of the Salvation Army, Hong Kong and Macao Command, officiating.

Ms Lau thanked the participating units for their contributions to the collection campaign and appealed for their continuous support. She stressed that the campaign aimed at promoting environmental protection and extending care to the under-privileged.

As a token of their gratitude, Major On and the Business Administrator of the Salvation Army, Ms Deirdre Ashe, presented souvenirs to representatives from the participating units for their contributions.
