In a bid to combat late night violence, shop theft and miscellaneous theft, Wan Chai District (WCHDIST) hosted two workshops for bar operators and retail shop representatives on February 11 and 12 respectively.
At the first workshop, Assistant District Commander (Crime) Wan Siu-hung briefed over 20 liquor licensees and bar managers on the situation of late night violence in WCHDIST, and stressed the importance of communication between the trade and the police and intelligence gathering. At the same time, Licensing Office Sub-unit Commander Kwan Tat-hoi also explained the conditions for application for, and renewal of, liquor licence.
At the second workshop, Mr Wan outlined to over 20 retail shop representatives the crime trend and the culprits’ modus operandi. Following this, officers from Commercial Crime Bureau and Hong Kong Island Regional Crime Prevention Office delivered talks on counterfeit banknotes and crime prevention measures respectively.
