The Senior Police Call (SPC) celebrated its 1st Anniversary with the First Anniversary cum Slogan Composition Contest Presentation Ceremony at Police Sports and Recreation Club on March 17.

Officiating at the ceremony were Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung, Deputy Commissioner (Management) Lo Wai-chung, Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Wong Chi-hung and the Chairman of the SPC Central Advisory Board, Mr Chung Siu-yeung.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Tsang praised the efforts of work partners, officers and SPC members for the SPC achievements  in the past year. He hoped SPC members would continue to disseminate SPC messages to their neighbours, bring the SPC scheme to another successful year and  share the joy of helping and serving other people.

Since its establishment in February last year, SPC has organised a variety of events, including three Investment Scam Seminars between April and August last year, World Cup Anti-illegal Soccer Gambling Campaign in June, Slogan Composition Contest between September and October, Anti-elder Abuse Seminar in January this year and Road Safety Campaign in Sau Mau Ping Road Safety Town in February. The total SPC membership in 21 police districts has exceeded 4 500. The districts have organised a total of 1 200 events, which attracted as many as 50 000 participations.

Mr Lo, Mr Wong and the Chairman of the SPC Central Finance Committee, Mr Wu Chor-nam, presented trophies and certificates of merits to 18 winners of the Slogan Composition Contest. The winning slogans have been printed on banners for SPC promotion functions in the coming year.
