The Chief of Staff of the Cambodian National Police (CNP), Police Lieutenant-General Peou Chea, paid a courtesy call on Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung on April 20 and passed on to Mr Tsang a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Force and the CNP for renewal.
The renewed MOU, signed by CP and Commissioner General Savoeun Neth of the CNP, sets out the framework for enhancing co-operation between the two organisations. It covers a wide range of issues like co-operation in deterring cross-jurisdictional crimes, especially trafficking in drugs, humans and arms; criminal intelligence exchange; professional development and capacity building. The first MOU was signed in 2006 and this is the second renewal.
During the courtesy call, both Mr Tsang and Lieutenant-General Chea emphasised that the CNP and the Force enjoy a long-standing partnership and will continue to seek further opportunities for co-operation.
