The Hong Kong Island (HKI) Regional Sports Day 2014 was held on March 25, with officers taking part in basketball, running, tennis, ten-pin bowling, squash, table tennis, tug-of-war, as well as the traditional and entertaining "Fun Game".

 

After rounds of tough battles, Eastern District (EDIST) and Central District (CDIST) captured the championships of men's and co-ed's tug-of-war respectively, while Traffic HKI won the "Fun Game".  EDIST claimed the titles of basketball and squash, while CDIST won the ten-pin bowling and table tennis, and Emergency Unit HKI and Traffic HKI picked gold in running and tennis respectively. 

 

The prize presentation brought the day to a climax when Acting Regional Commander Tang Ping-keung presented the Major Formation Champion Trophy to EDIST and Minor Formation Champion Trophy to Police Tactical Unit HKI.

 

Training and Staff Relations Office HKI also introduced a Physical Health Management (PHM) Training Package, which focuses on application of carbohydrate-loading by officers, and quality sleeping and stretching exercises.  The package will be distributed on Training Day.
