The Police Magazine television programme clinched the 10th position for the first time in the 2014 TV Programme Appreciation Index Survey. This is a record achievement for the police TV programme after ranking among the top 20 TV programmes in the same survey in both 2012 and 2013.
Conducted by the Public Opinion Programme of the University of Hong Kong regularly, the 2014 survey covered 204 television programmes and interviewed more than 8 000 citizens.
Police Magazine will continue to offer more series and special features in a bid to enhance public understanding of the Force. A new series on "Formation Feature" will illustrate the work of the Family Conflict & Sexual Violence Policy Unit, while a new series on "Force Specialist" will introduce the experts of different units such as Forensic Firearms Examination Division and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau. Furthermore, a series on "You need to know" will clarify some common misconceptions of police procedures.
Jointly produced by Police Public Relations Branch and Radio & Television Hong Kong (RTHK), Police Magazine is broadcast on ATV Home channel and RTHK TV 31 at 7pm on Saturdays.
