"Crime Prevention Discovery Channel", jointly organised by the Regional Crime Prevention Office of Kowloon East (RCPO KE) and City University of Hong Kong, took place earlier in the university before 120 students majoring in criminal psychology.
RCPO KE officers first imparted crime prevention knowledge to the students and then divided them into 12 teams for designing anti-crime mobile applications. On May 2, the 12 teams gave presentations on their creations in the university.
Assistant Commissioner of Customs and Excise Department, Mr Ho Shi-king, and Superintendent Kwok Yik-man from Crime Prevention Bureau acted as judges and selected the outstanding teams. Eventually, they picked mobile applications of "Crime Prevention at Home", "Beware of Pickpockets", "Minding Luggage at Airport" and "Counterfeit Banknotes" as award winners.
One of the students said he put the knowledge he had learned into his design and also learned more about police work.
