Kowloon East (KE) held a special exercise on May 6 in a bid to help Junior Police Officers (JPOs) pursue career development, attracting 36 JPOs and 11 undergraduate members of the Police Mentorship Programme. The exercise also aimed at making the JPOs more confident in seeking advancement to the Inspectorate.
During the exercise, the participants gave an "impromptu talk" in Chinese and English before an assessment panel formed by Superintendent (SP) Yu Hoi-kwan from Recruitment Division and two former instructors of Police College, SP Tsang Chiu-tong and Chief Inspector Chiu Wai-ming.
In a "Management Exercise", the participants were divided into three groups for discussing two management topics, each group being observed by a panel member and a mentor, both of whom later commented on their performances.
The participants later commented that the exercise, plus the assessors' comments and advice, would stand them in good stead in attending a promotion interview.
KE Senior Superintendent Yuen kwok-keung stressed that KE would continue offering more similar activities to help JPOs develop their potential and pursue career development.
