May 18, 2015 was another memorable day for the Force Search Unit (FSU) when the third Diploma in Police Search and Venue Security Presentation Ceremony took place at Police Headquarters before a large gathering of guests.

Director of Operations Lau Yip-shing, who was the guest of honour, Assistant Commissioner (Operations) Cheung Tak-keung and Senior Superintendent (Operations) Police Headquarters Lee Kiu-ki were on hand to congratulate the graduates on completing the diploma programme.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Lau emphasised that the Force fully supports and encourages officers for their continuous learning and career development. He urged the graduates to apply their search and screening skills as well as their workplace attachment experience in future operations so as to maintain the high professional standards set by the Force for serving the community.

Mr Lau reminded the graduates that the FSU plays a very important role and that knowledge and expertise are vital for ensuring that the FSU would continue to operate at the very high standards it had set for itself. In this regard, the diploma programme is very important and all the graduates should be proud of their achievements.

A total of 54 students graduated on this occasion and they may continue with tertiary studies for their lifelong learning goals and personal development. Officers interested in applying for joining FSU may contact SSGT KPS on 2860-2195 or ssgt-kps-ops@police.gov.hk.
